Come escape with me

I absolutely LOVE being in the city on such beautiful summer-esque days.ย  It’s still a wee bit early for most blooms. My MIL rose bushes would take center stage in this garden.

image

image

I guess that just means we’ll have to make another visit when the garden is more vibrant, but these pics of the lush greenery are beautiful in their own right.

I even managed to catch a bird mid flight

Have a great afternoon.

The Christening Saga Continues

Everytime I drove by this tree I thought this would be a perfect backdrop for a photoshoot and what a backdrop it was!

My girls weren’t enthused about another photoshoot.

My son was smiling enough for all of them. Didn’t he look dapper in his suit?

I did manage a few cute shots of the girls too.

Launch Day

When I imagined having a blog years ago, I saw lots of balloons and a nice back drop with coordinating outfits and everyone smiling and having ice cream afterwards to celebrate.

Today was the furthest from that, but you know what? ย I’m okay with that.ย  We did have ice cream though. โ˜บ Nemo was the family movie today. All the times we’ve watched Nemo, we never looked at the credits until today and I’m glad we did. I watched my eldest dance with her father. She was so thrilled. That’s what matters.

This was a canvas we saw when we first realized we were pregnant. Once we found out we were having twins, it was a perfect fit.

Here are a few pics of our day. Thanks, babe ๐Ÿ˜š

Nine Month Checkup

If you’ve held the twins lately, you know they’re like bricks!

We went into their doctor’s appointment on Friday expecting them to be over 20 pounds (at least Batman). I was surprised to find out that neither of them made the cut.

Batman weighed 19 lbs 4 ounces (47%)

Nelle weighted 16 lbs 15 ounces (22%)

As far as length, Nelle at 27 1/2 inches; ahead by 1/2 an inch.

In any event, at the rate they are growing, in no time they will probably be bigger than their big sister (at 2 1/2 she is 27 pounds).

The moment of truth….SHOTS ๐Ÿ™ˆ It was both a relief to me and my son that they weren’t getting shots.

They do, however, have blood work in a few days ๐Ÿ˜จ

That’s it for now.

I’m Right Behind You Batman

Not one to be outdone by Batman, his little sidekick sprung into action.

Earlier during the day we visited the National Arboretum.ย  We packed away and cleaned bottles while the kids played.ย  Hubby took them upstairs for bath time. I joined them a few minutes later. Just another typical day…

The bath assembly line was going when my littlest hopped up on the walker and took off.ย  Hubby saw her do it the first time.ย  I tried to get it on tape but she wouldn’t cooperate.

So now I have TWO twinsies on the loose. Who wants to come visit us? Don’t all say yes at once.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Red Lobster

Last week my first baby (my sister) celebrated her 12th Birthday๐Ÿ‘€ How is this happening? She’s a pre-teen! Since it was her day, I let her pick the restaurant. She wanted to go to….yes….Red Lobster.ย  Just like hubby predicted.ย  Lol, I used to LOVE this place. It once was our weekly family Friday night out on the town locale.ย  But its not about me. What the birthday girl wants she getsโ˜บ๐Ÿ˜œ

My son’s eyes doubled in size when he saw the food. GET IN MY TUMMY!
image

The twinsies got scolded by NaNa because they wouldn’t play nicely ๐Ÿ™ˆ I won’t say who the initiated…Nelle
image

This silly girl always insists on eating the lemons. Smh
image

During dinner she yelled the dreaded four words I. HAVE. TO. POOP.!!๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™Š Time stood still. All we could do was laugh about it. On our way to the bathroom, she noticed the live lobsters. We never made it to the potty and I wasn’t complaining.
image

She was so amazed until the greeter pulled one out. She hung to my leg as if it offered life support:D

I missed the Happy Birthday rendition but mom said sis was embarrased, so mission accomplished ๐Ÿ˜‰

Am I Ready?

Well, ready or not it’s happening and YES I am screaming it from the hilltop!

I ย was so excited yesterday I could barely contain myself. Here I was feeding the littlest miss after our trip to the park when big brother threw me for a loop!! He was not in the location I left him, which is normal, but this time was VERY different.

He was using the walker ALL BY HIMSELF ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ My baby boy can walk, assisted, but he’s WALKING. I desperately wanted to call everyone distribute the video but I waited until hubby got home.

I’m so excited as I’m writing this. My Batman can walk. Definitely, no hiding from him now. ย If he could get rid of his mommy separation issues, we would be golden.

GO BATMAN, GO!!!

Bye Bye EIGHTH Month

Tomorrow I will have NINE MONTH old twinsies.

This month we saw some MAJOR developments.

Both babies are crawling on all fours. They are pulling up on things and moving from furniture to furniture.

Little mama got her first tooth.

Her ears were pierced while we were in NJ.
image

The babies were christened in New Jersey.
image

We celebrated our first Mother’s Day. What a difference a year made?
image

We are at that juncture of CHILDPROOFING .ย  The discussion for a cage to contain the craziness was made but we opted for the pack and play. I like to shop but I save whenever I can. More money to go exploring, besides, I can see them breaking out with big sister at the helm.

I know I’ve been looking forward to this moment where they are mobile, but now I wish I could go back just a few weeks ago when they were DISCOVERING how to crawl. It was cute then, not so much now. There’s no hiding from them anymore. As soon as they hear my voice, operation go find mommy is in full effect.

I think within the next month they will be walking for sure. My money is still on my son walking first. What do you think?

Is Two Hours…Too Much To Ask?

A little time alone is good for the soul. I usually say a vacation is, but that’s not happening right now.ย So, daily I TRY to get two hours for ME, MYSELF, and I. Most days it doesn’t work but with warmer temperatures I am determined to do this at least three times a week or so I’m thinking.

While I was getting dressed my oldest asked to tag along. I really wanted to say no but she kept saying “please, can I go with you mommy? Please, can I go? Can I go?ย  Funny how you don’t have to prompt them to use their manners when they really want something.

We settled for the National Botanical Garden. I knew it was going to be a good afternoon because I found free parking ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ oh yeah.

On our way over she indulged in her fave past time. Chasing birds

image

We even played a game of I Spy. Which letter do you spy?

image

After a while she yelled “I want to go see the octopus mommy” I was confused. There’s no aquarium within sight. I said what octopus? and she pointed “the octopus” as if she was annoyed I was questioning her intellegence. Ooh๐Ÿ˜ฏ The Cathedral Root was the mistaken character ๐Ÿ˜€

image

Inside, our first stop was the children’s garden; but it was closed. The next best thing was this fairy house.
image

She got lost in the jungle as I snapped away.

image

image

We checked out the outside garden next.

She proceeded with caution as I told her to smell this plant.
image

Passerby chuckled as I chased her in and around the fountain. Thank goodness it was off.

image

I beamed when she walked over to the rose garden, sat down, struck a pose and asked me to take a selfieโ˜บ

image

The highlight of her day was dipping her toes in this fountain (I know we broke the rules, sorry). She was ready for a swim.
image

We had so much fun together. I love one on one time with her even if it infringes on my ALONE time ๐Ÿ˜‰

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

Yesterday we tried to visit Maymont Park and my oldest daughter threw up all over the car as soon as we pulled up; we never made it in. So here’s to attempt number two.

Success? YES. We actually made it in but with one slight glitch. I forgot the camera battery. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Instead of being mad I’m looking at it as the Lord didn’t want me to spend all my time taking and editing pictures. He wanted me to enjoy my time with my family.
